The floor was a stunning American oak reclaimed floor that was in desperate need of a complete restoration. There was some heavy furniture that could not come out so the room was split into 2 sections to be sanded.

The room was taped up and the first section sanded and finished in 3 coats of a matt light commercial lacquer. Then I removed the kickboards in the kitchen area.

Using the latest in dust-free equipment from Bimack  Bona Festool and pallman. Firstly the floor leveled off as there were uneven boards.  Then edged and detailed around the spiraled staircase. Working through the grits all damage was removed.

It was then ready for the finish starting with one coat of Junckers prelak and finished with 2 coats of  matt strong premium lacquer
